this release - a collaboration between ali x (alphonse from azari & iii) and mexicos theus mago - turns the heat up all the way to on and just leaves it there. the lyrical content of the title track would lead many to use descriptors like sexy, sleazy, and steamy like you wouldnt even believe, and while the music also bears that out its important to remember not to stigmatize something that almost everyone does at least a couple of times a week. vision, meanwhile, offers the perfect b-side accompaniment, a sci-fi techno workout where you dont even have to think about sex if you dont want to. the ep features dub versions of both tracks for more stripped-down club sets aimed at people who understandably have problems with the sound of the human voice. it also includes a remix by curses, whom we recently bumped into (he says cornered) in berlin and asked if hed provide one of his trademark eerie downtempo excursions. long story short: he said yes.

back in the days at the west-saxon highlands there was a missile, which marked the starting point. when credit 00 saw the legendary rocket rise on tetris� final screen, it was the first time he became aware of electronic music at all. since then it actually hasn�t changed that much. he keeps pushing that buttons that belong to the impressive pool of music machines towered up next to his bed. after moving to dresden in 2000 to study fine arts, his passion for synthesizers and drum machines got nurtured through visits of dresden�s club-canalisation. he quickly made himself a name as a dj, who is just doing his own thing and got popular for that reason. as a part of the idealfun-crew he started hosting parties always in the twilight zone between legal and illegal. this led to �robo dance�, dresden�s only and (also for some other reasons) best electro club night featuring guests like dmx krew, luke eargoogle or imatran voima. the track credit made with randy barracuda of imatran voima has probably been created some time after the show. apparently, randy was not in good shape anymore and so �lebensraum� unmistakably bears credit�s hallmarks. for his own music he�s inspired by cannibal movies, number theory and birds. still, his music is not easy to pigeonhole. after all, he loves synth wave, electro, afro, kraut, kosmische, disco, italo, miami bass and other proto stuff � a lot of machine music.

�consistency�, the second lp from the berlin-based techno artist. the 11 track release follows 2014�s �en route� and will be released on heiko laux�s label kanzleramt, a label with which kajioka has worked with closely for over a decade. consistency lp bears all the marks of a kajioka release: a collection of deep, driving, groove-laden and synth-focused cuts. heady grooves which leave little question why ray kajioka is held in such high regard among techno veterans, called upon regularly for remix honours by the the likes of heiko laux, joel mull, pan-pot, elbee bad, alexander kowalski and marc romboy, to name but a few. kajioka�s reputation for faultless production remains consistent on this, his sophomore lp. the full, extended physical release of consistency contains 3 vinyl disks: 2 x 12� lp disks plus a free, bonus 12�.

avesom (name inspired by the dog of justin bennett, the sound technician that mixed the album) are creations produced during long reharsals sessions that have taken place mostly during sunsets and late nights. there torakiki inmersed themselves in a trip where the music achievable with their own finger was tested, rejecting in advance any programming. the overall sound of the album follow the path of the previous ep, halfway between the new wave and ambient. the band aims references from aphex twin, liars, jamie xx and on the other side, classical sounds from the italian song. in the album participate the voice of ilaria ippolito (# #pap ) and of gulia olivari (o.a.u.). the video of luxard was shot by giovanni aloi in a park in hong kong.

as christmas 1969 beckoned, jimi hendrix, bassist billy cox, and drummer buddy miles engaged in extensive rehearsals for their highly anticipated appearances at the fillmore east in new york. branded by hendrix as the band of gypsys, the trio worked feverishly rounding such exciting new original material as >izabella< and >machine gun< into form. keenly aware of the special significance his forthcoming concerts represented, jimi wanted to prepare something extraordinary for his audience. to mark the occasion in his own inimitable fashion, jimi readied this special medley of holiday favorites to celebrate both christmas and the dawning of a new decade. this recording was made at baggys studios, a manhattan rehearsal facility the group preferred. it by no means should be considered a polished studio recording made to hendrixs exacting specifications. it is, instead, perhaps even more revealing. this is a glimpse of jimi simply having fun in the company of close friends. the photograph of jimi posing as santa claus was originally organized on behalf of the uk music newspaper record mirror. to help publicize the december 1967 release of axis: bold as love, the groups second album, jimi agreed to pose as santa for the issues cover. an alternate photograph from that session, with jimi bearing gifts in the form of axis: bold as love, is featured here. as an added bonus, also included is jimis playful >three little bears<. this track was recorded with the experience at the record plant in may 1968 during sessions for electric ladyland. bypassed for that album, >three little bears< was originally issued as part of the 1972 posthumous compilation war heroes. it has been unavailable in the us for nearly twenty-five years.

in advance of the release of dapayk & padbergs third full-length sweet nothings - this time round on stil vor talent - the experienced duo are teasing us with the fluffy cloud ep, which showcases three of the album�s many diverse highlights, while keeping the vinyl lovers happy. the a-side bears the lps title track >sweet nothings<, on which dapayk & padberg�s sound takes a turn as they come knocking with a deep but forceful groover, whose distorted high-hats and trancey synth stabs create a vibe both euphoric and weirdly subdued. the lyrics, moreover, emphasise the duality at the core of many dapayk & padberg tracks as the latter ponders �you�re good for me - you�re bad for me�. showing another of the duo�s many facets, �backyard� enchants thanks to mystical lyrics sung beautifully over a deep quasi-dubstep structure. marking the ep�s mid-point, the atmospheric song shines through intricately crafted fragility and is the perfect contrast to the previous and following track, while leaving a strong desire for more stuck in the listener�s mind. on the b-side, �fluffy clouds� does quite the opposite to what its title suggests - rather than being a soft little piece, we are treated to big-room techno fodder à la berghain. a skeletal framework of heavy kicks, dark pads, white noise and dense metallics works relentlessly underneath a cold spoken word, proclaiming >not human, not animal - just a body in motion<. machine funk par excellence.
